About Us
You will be joining the UCL Sustainable Research Team, a small group of collaborative people who are dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of research. We are part of the wider UCL Sustainability Team, who work with the UCL community to embed sustainability into research, buildings and behaviours at UCL, and beyond.
In this job you'll play a key part in supporting UCL's groundbreaking LEAF programme. Designed at UCL to improve laboratory sustainability, LEAF has now been adopted by over 100 research institutions in the UK and globally. As membership of the programme grows and new frameworks are developed, support is needed for the growing range of activities related to its delivery.
About The Role
As a Sustainable Research Officer you will be responsible for providing support to our community of external LEAF users. This includes providing information on the programme to potential customers, on-boarding and training new users in how to use the LEAF platform and working with them to establish sustainable laboratory practices within their organisations. You'll also develop the international community of LEAF users, developing networking opportunities and programmes of events to support LEAF users to collaborate to achieve their sustainability objectives.
The LEAF programme undergoes continual improvement and you will play a key role in understanding the needs of non-UCL LEAF users to enable opportunities for new research assessment frameworks to be identified, working with the wider team to develop and deliver the schemes.
Please note we have two of these posts currently available.
A full range of duties can be found on the attached job description.
