Job Description

As a Staff Field Application Engineer, you will act as a technical expert in microcontrollers and IoT applications, driving design-ins, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and providing premium support to our customers. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, influence customer decisions, and shape the future of consumer and IoT applications.

In your new role you will:

  • Apply your in-depth knowledge of technology and Infineon products to be a trusted technical advisor and partner for our customers in their application design
  • Drive design-ins of Infineon products with a focus on microcontroller in consumer and IoT applications
  • Identify and support additional cross-selling for connectivity, sensors, and security
  • Provide premium specialized technical support to the assigned territory and focus customers
  • Enable design wins by demand creation and positively influencing customer decisions
  • Interact closely with 2nd and 3rd level technical teams to solve technical challenges and enable our customer’s applications
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Application teams to achieve design-win targets
  • Conduct trainings/seminars on target products and applications for Field Application Engineers and customers
  • Contribute to collateral requirements and product definition

Your Profile

You are curious and passionate about working in an international team environment where collaboration and innovation thrive. In addition to your excellent demonstrated technical skills and experience, you are a great team player with strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people. You also enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues. Finally, you are self-motivated, capable of assessing risks and opportunities, and willing to go the extra mile when needed.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar field of studies
  • At least 4 years of working experience, ideally in a Field Application Engineering role within the semiconductor industry
  • Advanced knowledge of MCU architectures and experience with embedded OS development
  • Solid track record in understanding the technical decision process at the customer and managing internal & external international stakeholders
  • Experience and curiosity about AI/Machine Learning use cases and edge computing based on Neural networks
  • Interest in adjacent technology like connectivity and security in IoT (BLE, WiFi, Thread, Matter)
  • Regular willingness to travel within the EMEA region
  • Fluency in English (mandatory)
