The Medical Day unit in Glan Clwyd Hospital has an exciting opportunity to join our unit. We are looking for an experienced nurse who has worked in a Medical Day Unit area and who has skills such has Venepuncture and cannulation. The experienced nurse will also require skills and knowledge in areas such as cardioversions and complex day cases.
This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive leadership approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. Managing and controlling the activities of the ward in an effective and efficient manner.
Main duties of the job
All applicants are expected to keep with new initiatives and interventions within nursing care and the nurse led service of the Medical Day Unit. The Specialist nurse is expected to continue the running of the ward in the absence of the unit manager . Providing support with staff appraisals, sickness and training support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- RGN 1st Level Registration
- Evidence of further post-reg study
- Diploma in Nursing
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience at Band 5 working in a medical day unit
- Experience of ordering from Oracle and NHS supply chain
- Previous experience at Band 5
Essential criteria
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of relevant clinical practice.
- Good knowledge of Clinical Governance issues
- Evidence of innovative practice
- ALS
