Contract type: Full time
We have the great opportunity for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our NHS Derbyshire Talking Therapies Service!

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PWP ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll work alongside the Service Lead and PWP Team Lead to support, develop, and inspire the team - while continuing to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to our service users.

  • This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, with hours scheduled between 8:00am and 8:00pm.
  • You’ll typically work one late shift (12:00pm-8:00pm) per week.
  • There is also an expectation to work face-to-face at least one day per week, with the remainder of the week offering remote flexibility depending on service needs.

About The Job

As a Senior PWP, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality assessments and evidence-based low-intensity CBT interventions to patients referred by local GP practices.
  • Carry out rapid screenings and assessments, drawing on a sound understanding of mental health needs and associated risks.
  • Provide regular clinical and case management supervision to PWP team members and trainees.
  • Support the Team Lead with clinical supervision and line management responsibilities where needed.
  • Champion high standards of clinical record keeping in line with service policy.
  • Ensure service user needs and recovery goals remain at the heart of everything we do.
  • Actively support service development, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Lead by example - be a positive role model and promote a culture of learning and collaboration.

What We're Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold a PGCert or UGCert in Low Intensity Interventions from a BPS-accredited provider, or a MSci in Applied Psychology (PWP) with dual BPS accreditation, or have completed a PWP Apprenticeship through a BPS-accredited route.
  • Are registered (or working towards registration) with BABCP or BPS.
  • Have experience delivering Step 2 interventions and supporting others through supervision or mentorship.
  • Are confident in conducting risk assessments and working with a range of mental health presentations.
  • Communicate effectively, build strong therapeutic relationships, and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team.
  • Are organised, adaptable, and able to manage a busy caseload.
  • Are committed to the principles of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and passionate about supporting others on their recovery journey.
