Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gastroenterology Team in Wrexham Maelor Hospital, for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Administrator. The post holder will be an integral member of the team and will provide high-level administration support.
The post-holder will need to have previous Medical Secretary Experience, possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards. The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team and specialist nursing teams, other health professionals.
The post holder will be responsible for the guidance, supervision and direction of the admin team dealing with appropriate day to day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder must also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.
The Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. It is essential that the successful candidate has a flexible approach to work, to meet the demands of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- NVQ Business administration L4 or equivalent experience Or City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3Diploma in Medical administration or equivalent medical secretary experience
- RSA /OCR level 3 or equivalent experience or qualification in typing
- ECDL or equivalent experience
- Management qualification or working towards
- NVQ 3 Customer Service
- ILM Level 2 (or working towards) relevant equivalent qualification.
