Job Description

Residential Support Worker

Salary: £24,242 per annum plus an opportunity to earn an additional £4,200 per annum based on an average of 7 sleep-ins per month

Location: Wrexham

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time – 37 hours per week (on a rota basis, working days, evenings, waking nights and weekends)

A Bit About The Role

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

We offer an in-depth induction process and training. Alongside this, we will enrol you in the qualifications which you need to work in the industry. Regular supervision with your line manager, team meetings etc. will ensure you feel part of our team.

About The Service

Tan y Dre Residential Services is a 4-bed therapeutic residential home, where we provide medium to long term care for young people aged 9-18 years old with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The aim of this role is to support them with their transition in to safe and happy adults.

Our children receive a bespoke intervention tailored to their individual needs supported by a team of staff who are fully committed to understating and meeting the child's needs and reduces the identified barriers.

Our therapeutic model will provide an environment where they will receive positive experiences of reliable, consistent parenting through providing specific and structured care, with very clear consistent boundaries.

Our aim is to provide opportunities and experiences that widen the individuals sense of belonging through our individualised support.

How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures

  • Provide compassionate and individualized care to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Facilitate daily activities to promote the well-being and development of the children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to children and young people, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience.

Let's Talk About You

  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales, or if not supported by us to complete
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
  • The ability to drive. The job requires the transportation of children and young people from and to the service as and when required.
