Your Contribution To Prysmian's Success
We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Wrexham. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and take ownership for all electrical project work on site.
Working alongside our mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in all electrical activities through your experience and know-how. You will identify and drive improvement activities and will require a high level of technical expertise including PLC systems, AC / DC drives and the latest electrical technologies and automation techniques.

Your Contribution To Prysmian's Success
We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Wrexham. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and take ownership for all electrical project work on site.
Working alongside our mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in all electrical activities through your experience and know-how. You will identify and drive improvement activities and will require a high level of technical expertise including PLC systems, AC / DC drives and the latest electrical technologies and automation techniques.
- Ensure adherence and improvement in all safety and environmental standards, within an OHSAS 18001 accredited facility.
- Support a team of experienced electrical technicians, who operate across a variety of shift patterns to provide 24/7 support in completing both proactive and reactive Maintenance activity.
- Ensure electrical site services, including HV switch gear and distribution systems are monitored and maintained.
- Lead and implement improvement program for aging Electrical equipment and machinery.
- Support / manage project activity, including the technical specification, planning and delivery of projects such as new machine design and retro fit.
- Support the achievement of all maintenance measures, including PPM Completion, Shift Tasks, Machine Downtime, Urgent Breakdown scenarios, Meantime between failure and Route Cause Analysis Investigations.
- Implement Lean / continuous improvement activity and strategy to improve performance and drive site sustainability.
- Support the Identification and implementation of actions to minimise conversion costs, with specific focus on Energy and Maintenance spend.
- Take responsibility for aspects of direct line leadership of the maintenance team, Co-ordinating activities across all shift patterns.
- Preferably educated to degree standard in an electrical engineering discipline however not essential, as candidates with a minimum of an HNC level qualification together with relevant experience will be considered.
- Proven ”Hands On” maintenance experience through completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship.
- Sound understanding of electrical control principles and hardware to provide technical support to experienced electrical technicians.
- Detailed knowledge of BS7671 - 18th Edition.
- Experience of operating in a fast-moving multi-discipline environment.
- Experience of working on a variety of equipment, in a heavy industrialised environment, with knowledge of both AC & DC drives and PLC control systems - Allen Bradley or Siemens is Preferred.
