As Senior IT Technician your role is to assist the IT agenda for the business, whilst providing support and advice to business through an effective IT Help Desk team.
Key Responsibilities
- To lead and direct an efficient and ‘right first time’ technical team which adds value to the Company.
- To support IT strategies and guidelines to sustain a level of stability and structure to the installed systems;
- Maintaining and supporting the development of systems in accordance with the Company’s vision to ensure the systems we run are capable of supporting future development and new technologies of the future;
- Ensure that the solutions in use by the client so far as possible provide good “value for money” and are sized appropriately for the needs of the company.
- Organise the purchase of all computing equipment and telephone equipment for the Company, supporting Procurement in evaluating the most cost-appropriate solutions.
- To ensure that all the members of the team provide the highest standard of professionalism.
- To ensure all Company operating procedures are adhered to in accordance with the Company’s Business Rules;
- To actively seek ways to develop, learn and implement best practice processes and procedures to continually improve the performance of the team and the group;
- Anticipate problems and resolve issues in line with Company policies and procedures;
- To effectively plan and organise key tasks, prioritising the needs of the business;
- Monitor the performance and skills of the technical team ensuring their maximum contribution to the success of the company;
- To be constantly aware of Health and Safety regulations within the department for both internal staff and all visitors to the branch;
- To act as an effective representative for the Company both internally and externally by maintaining professionalism and positive attitude and ensuring that confidentiality of all business activities is maintained;
- To liaise and build good working relationships.
- To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the needs of the business.
- Experience of providing IT support within ideally recruitment, or a similarly regulated industry
- Experience in leadership/management
- Extensive experience within a similar role, with proven track record of supporting IT infrastructure and IT provision
- Clear understanding of good governance in delivering consistent quality services
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Understanding and administration of: M365 and Azure; on premise Active Directory; Network Topology; DNS VPNs; Wi-Fi; IP; Cabling / Patching Switches & PoE; cyber security concepts; MFA and OTP
- Experience of mobile and VoIP management
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience of GDPR, WEEE Directive
- Ability to influence and work under pressure and against deadlines
- Articulate communicator, both written and oral
- Ability to work collaboratively to gain results
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Mobile - prepared to travel where necessary
