It’s a fantastic time to be joining the HR & OD Team at Brent Council as a Senior HR Business Partner as we embark on our ambitious new transformation programme and have made significant investment in our HR and OD services.


You will play a key role in supporting our managers and delivering a culture change programme. Therefore, we are looking for change makers, visionaries, and inspiring people who share our aspiration to deliver a first-class HR & OD service.

About the role

As a Senior HR Business Partner at Brent, you will lead and manage the delivery of a professional HR service. You’ll also work with senior leaders across the Council to enable effective organisational change. In this role you’ll need to understand the objectives and challenges of leaders’ business areas, while providing people management solutions and technical expertise to support the continuous improvement of services. You will need to be able to develop strong relationships and support Brent’s leaders in workforce planning, always looking forward to the future. We encourage flexible working, meaning you will have the option to work two days a week from home.


About you

You will be a HR professional who is CIPD qualified to Level 7, care deeply about making a difference and have demonstrable experience of working at a strategic level. It is essential for success in this role that you can demonstrate an ability to build relationships with stakeholders and work with leaders across the business. You’ll be able to lead a team, showing effective coaching skills. You will also require a comprehensive knowledge of employment law and employee relations, and have experience of translating this into effective advice, policy, and practice.
