British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Scientific & Regulatory Affairs – Compliance Insights Manager in Southampton.
This role will be instrumental on driving Product Regulatory Compliance (PRC) operational excellence, supporting the successful implementation of advanced technological systems, tools, automations, and process improvements. You will contribute to digital transformation projects, organizational change and the continuous improvement of PRC processes and systems, ensuring these are aligned and integrated with the BAT long-term technology platform strategy, as well as fit-for-purpose model to conduct activities which meet BAT Product Guidance, BAT Duty of Care standards and legal requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Testing and validation of new systems and tools being developed, to ensure they meet user and department requirements. Perform user acceptance testing, identify issues, and collaborate with IT teams to resolve them.
- Use data mining techniques to analyze product and/or regulatory data, identify trends, gaps, and support decision-making processes. Provide data-driven insights to improve PRC workflows and system efficiency.
- Support the design and development of automation solutions that streamline PRC operations. Work closely with partners to identify repetitive tasks and assist in automating them to drive efficiencies and reduce manual workloads.
- Create and update detailed process maps that reflect PRC workflows and system integrations. Ensure that these maps are clear and comprehensive, allowing for easy communication of changes and new processes to partners.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and training materials for new systems, tools, and processes. Help deliver training sessions to upskill team members on new technologies and related activities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems, processes, and tools align with overall business objectives. Support change management efforts by communicating clearly and proactively with all partners.
- First degree in a technical field, and/or numerous years of experience in a technical role.
- Clear communication, strong organizational skills, and ability to influence others and move towards a common goal.
- Deep knowledge of the contents and design of BAT’s product portfolio.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to mine, manipulate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Good knowledge of in fundamental aspects of PRC processes and legal requirements, vital to validate solutions.
- Possess computer proficiency in Microsoft office software, data collection and general analysis tools, Microsoft Excel proficiency particularly preferred.
- Ability to lead upwards optimally and assertively, as well as within the peer group, to acquire the necessary information, and help drive and advise the decision-making process by the appropriately placed people (both at the senior and junior level).
- Ability to work independently, but also able to engage and influence within a more sophisticated matrix structure where no reporting lines exist.
