Job Summary
As a part of Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ), the nerve centre of the Royal Navy (RN), the Personnel Security Advisor (PSYA) is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of security activity and ensuring Navy Command TLB complies with Defence security policy.
Part of the Navy PSYA Personnel Security Team, which is located within HM Naval Base, provision of risk management and assurance to the Navy Command Senior Security Risk Manager. This is essential to the diverse and complex Defence threats and challenges in a rapidly changing world. Together our mix of civilian and military personnel in Navy PSYA inform security decision making in Defence to support operational objectives.
Navy PSYA Personnel Security is seeking to recruit an AO; to work as part of a small civilian team delivering RN Service Personnel security vetting requirements. As an expert in Personnel Security Operations, the role will play a pivotal role in responding to the issues that come from working in a large organisation.

Job Description
Working within the Security Vetting( SYVETT )Team, the post holder will ensure all RN service personnel maintain an in-date National Security Vetting clearance and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
Responsibilities –
Collaborative working across the RN to ensure all service personnel maintain an in-date National Security Vetting clearance.
To signpost personnel that are in DV competence positions without a DV clearance to the relevant stakeholders, working collaboratively with other stakeholders in PSYA.
Process Vetting Applications, creating new vetting records for each vetting subject. Issue e-vetting links for all new vetting requests. Complete sponsor sections on all completed e-vetting links.
Mailbox management and respond to customer enquiries.

An environment with flexible working option
The post does not offer relocation expenses (move of home, excess fares or temporary transfer). Non-Standard move applicants will be eligible for the full package, subject to eligibility.

Person specification
- You will already hold a valid Security Check (SC) vetting clearance, or otherwise be able to achieve and hold this clearance. The requirement is mandatory and essential. - It is essential to have a knowledge of the rank/rate structure of the RN.
- It is essential you will have experience with Microsoft 365 and a desirable knowledge of sharePoint.
- It is essential you have previous administration or organisational experience.
- You will require good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work reactively to rapidly changing priorities and work streams as required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capability to provide accurate and quality work to tight deadlines.
