We are currently recruiting for a multi Site Security Manager to work on one of our prestigious contracts located across 3 sites from Newcastle to Carlisle.
Main Function of the role
The main role of the Site Security Manager (SSM) is to oversee the day to day operational management in line with customer and contractual expectations. In doing so, the SSM will manage operational needs and requirements by providing strong visible leadership, demonstrating professionalism, integrity and managing the site security team to ensure a consistent high-quality service delivery and prompt response to all security related incidents.
Statement of duties - Operational (The SSM’s will be responsible for but not limited too)
Hours - 60 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am - 7pm.
This will be predominantly days but may be required to work weekends and nights at times to suit the needs of the business during busy periods.
Previous experience of gatehouse duties is an advantage but not essential as training is given.

- To pro-actively manage a security team ensuring that all duties are carried out in accordance with bespoke Client procedures and policies and take responsibility for professional conduct and development of the team.
- To act as a key security contact for all daily operational security matters liaising with the Client managers, to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to security and delivery of the professional security service; escalating issues appropriately.
- To work in partnership with the client representatives and service partners to act as the ‘Client senior partnership services’ (CSPS) co-ordinator
- To manage the deployment of the Security Team by way of forward planning and co-ordination, allocation and supervision through the compiling of rosters.
- Ensuring that the security posts and patrols are appropriately staffed and that there is rotation of duties for the shift and that all post are staffed correctly.
- Ensuring that tasks and breaks are performed correctly and ensure that regular security post visits are conducted.
- Ensuring that the security teams are briefed on relevant security matters or changes in procedures that have been or are due to be implemented.
- Managing and directing the security response at time of an incident e.g. evacuation or fire alarms in public and ‘restricted’ areas and provide effective support to the client’s Incident Management representative and undertake incident management responsibilities e.g. conducting dynamic risk assessments, liaison with emergency services.
- Ensuring appropriate training is delivered to teams / individual staff in accordance with their roles / responsibilities and identified training and development needs.
- To drive and develop the team in relation to security skills and experience to support continual improvement. In order to carry out this function, it is expected that the SSM’s will be capable of delivering detailed and complex training to the team in several domains and disciplines (e.g. Access Control, CCTV, Planon, and Intruder Detection).
- Valid SIA license.
- Full Driving licence and transport for the role.
- Strong leadership abilities with previous experience in a supervisory role
- Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Proven reliability including an ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, being able to adapt style to meet the needs of the situation.
- Self-motivated and able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation
