We currently have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Operative (Mechanical Bias) to join our facilities team at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Please note this role will require enrolment on a Mechanical Building Services Apprenticeship 4 year training programme which will start Sept ’25 so please only apply if you are looking to complete a full 4 year apprenticeship which will include one day of college attendance each week.

The role:


  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • To provide technical engineering support for the Hard FM Services department and carry out preventative maintenance to deadline plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
  • To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
  • To manage Contractors as necessary
  • Working from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Requirement to participate in the out of hours on call rota and be able to respond/attend site within one hour of the call.


The person:


  • Required to have good knowledge of building services, ideally with familiarity of AHU’s, large building water distribution systems and L8.
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling
  • IT Literate
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous
  • Must have a good understanding of health & safety best practice; formal training an advantage
