Are you ready to redefine how Sky Sports engages with U35 audiences and women?

Overview

As the Head of Social Media, Brand (Sports), you will play a pivotal role in transforming Sky Sports into a leading Sports Brand that not only delivers top-notch broadcasting but also engages younger and diverse audiences. Reporting directly to the leadership team, you will collaborate with the existing Head of Social Media & Audience Development to implement a fresh social media growth strategy, designed to attract and retain U35s and women.

Your team, working closely with the wider Sky Sports social team and agency partners, will produce high-impact paid, organic, and influencer-driven content that resonates with younger audiences and drives measurable business impact for Sky Sports.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Growth Leadership: Lead the strategy for growing Sky Sports' U35 and women's audience on social media by leveraging the brand’s core pillars. Develop and execute content strategies, influencer collaborations, and social-led partnerships that deepen Sky Sports' connection to popular culture.
  • Drive U35 Engagement: Accelerate the implementation of the U35 audience growth workstream, tapping into new content streams, creator-led initiatives, and influencer activations that inspire younger audiences to connect with and love Sky Sports.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a dynamic team of 7+, including Senior Managers, Managers, and Executives, ensuring best practices in social media execution across all campaigns.
  • Strategic Activation: Collaborate with the PR team to identify key sports rights that will drive social media engagement, brand talkability, and positive audience perception shifts.
  • Budget Optimisation: Ensure appropriate budget allocation and optimisation across key campaigns, series, and reactive content. Drive commercial and brand health results, incorporating paid media strategies where necessary.
  • Campaign Excellence: Work closely with the Sky Sports Social Team to maintain editorial best practices, deliver campaign brilliance, and ensure accurate measurement of campaign impact. Continuously refine strategies based on insights and performance metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the wider digital team to drive social media and influencer activity that aligns with the broader funnel strategy, ensuring cohesive execution across all digital platforms.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in Sports Social Media: At least 8 years of experience in social media marketing, editorial content, and audience growth within the sports industry.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders in a complex business environment, with proven success in managing upwards and across departments.
  • Cultural Awareness: The ability to navigate and thrive in a multinational and multicultural environment, understanding diverse audience needs and preferences.
  • Creative Thinking: A track record of bringing innovative and strategic ideas to the table, particularly in capturing new, younger audiences for a well-established brand.
