Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust for a Junior Information Analyst who can play a key role in the delivery of a comprehensive information service.

This role will assist in the provision of an information/performance reporting service to support the data analysis and information management needs of the Trusts’ Directorates and Enabling Services.

You will have some experience of working with information to improve how data is collected and knowledge of data analysis and associated business intelligence tools.

You will have demonstrable skills in the use of SQL, Excel or QlikView.

You should expect to work in a fast-paced environment, operating to key local and national deadlines with a passion for improving and exploiting information. In return you will receive training and support to further develop your technical and leadership skills and make a genuine contribution to improving the patient experience.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • To highlight data anomalies and inconsistencies in reports and investigate to identify source problem and suggest/ implement resolutions commensurate with the role.
  • To be knowledgeable of the Trusts information systems and other bespoke software to access patient records; and identify the most expedient way to resolve information requests and queries.
  • To deal with queries relating to data or information, assess whether standard analyses are robust e.g. undertaking a data cleansing role or comparing data from different sources to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy.
  • To use analytical software including (but not limited to) QlikView, SQL, MS Excel etc. to summarise data.
  • To ensure that all reports and information are accurate and produced in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that a range of statutory statistical returns appropriate to the Trust are produced within the necessary timescales.
  • To participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote commitment to continuous development and improvement.
  • To contribute to the wider team by demonstrating a strong work ethic and a passion for improving both personally and as a team member at all times.
  • To provide short-term cover for colleagues during periods of leave.
  • To perform any other duties as deemed commensurate with the role.
