An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services for Health Care Support Worker’s to work within In-Patient Services on a permanent basis. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team on a daily basis, post holders will have the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of high quality, patient-centered care for individuals requiring care and treatment for alcohol and substance use. Applicants must be able to fulfil the main duties and responsibilities as outlined within the job description.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as good time management. Applicants must show motivation and a desire to work within an inpatient hospital environment with the ability to provide high quality, person-centered and compassionate care at all times. The initial base for these posts will be within Eriskay House, Stobhill Hospital and the Kershaw Unit, Gartnavel Royal Hospital.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
