Head of School

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Aberdeen
Contract type: Full time
Albyn is a forward-thinking and progressive school that promotes a culture that encourages everyone to move beyond their comfort zone.

We have a distinguished history as one of the first all-girl schools, founded in 1867, which has been co-educational for almost 20 years.

As one of the leading independent schools in Scotland, Albyn School empowers children to take ownership of their future by fostering a love of learning through offering a unique educational experience.

We are now recruiting for a driven Head of School to inspire the next generation to be ‘self-aware, ambitious and outward looking’, equipping our pupils with the skills to be good global citizens.

The successful candidate will have proven and successful school leadership experience in a similar role, with the credibility to lead Albyn School through the next chapter in its 157-year history.

This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of Albyn and the new Head will work closely with the volunteer, non-executive, governing Board and the rest of the leadership team on the delivery of our mission, aims and values. You will also be a major contributor towards our strategy and identifying the school’s key objectives.

Combined with an impressive record of educational achievement, the successful candidate will have the financial acumen to maintain long-term sustainability.

Albyn is seeking an inspirational leader and outstanding communicator who will lead by example and bring innovation and new ideas to this strategic role. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of an ambitious and challenging curriculum while maintaining the school’s academic ethos.

The school is intertwined with the local community and our next Head should be confident in fostering existing relationships and building new stakeholder partnerships.

The post is ideally suited to someone with flair for innovation and meeting challenges head on. If you are the visionary leader we are looking for, with a passion for improving the life chances of young people, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications in the form of a tailored CV and covering letter, highlighting your skills and experience pertinent to the role, should arrive no later than Sunday 27 October to LHH Scotland Executive.

For a confidential, informal discussion about the role, or to request a Candidate Information Pack, please contact LHH directly.
