In this role you will have responsibility for managing the UK based Quality Assurance team of experts and the resources allocated to it, and playing a significant part in mastering the Electronic Monitoring products through the use of various cutting-edge technologies and tools.

You will be part of the Global Allied Universal QA Department, leading the company into a new quality era, based on Agile methodologies. Travel to client’s sites (internally & externally) will be required, to provide product/system support during their test phases, and providing confidence in our professional quality assurance process and attitude.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Manage the department of Test Experts, aiming that all company products (software and hardware) are fully tested before deployment to customers.
  • Manage the department, through management of workload, capacity, absence, performance, appraisals etc.
  • Lead the department to provide assurance that the solution provided to customers is correct and will work with confidence.
  • Ensure that no critical defects are released to customers if correct test gateways are met and processes are followed.
  • Ensure that all defects are captured and visible for risk analysis to all internal stakeholders
  • Investigate the latest and continuously evolve test tools to maximize the efficiency and quality control of processes in the department.
  • Ensure appropriate processes and procedures are followed, implemented and continuously reported.
  • Ensure that the products are released on time and meet customer deadlines.
  • Assist colleagues in developing and gaining technical and organizational knowledge , to become product experts.
  • Regular reporting of quality to management on department KPI metrics.
  • Project Reporting on test status and risks for internal and external customers.
  • Support the sales team in new business proposals and bids, including accurate cost and resource estimations.
  • Support at test and new contract pilot stages in consultation with the customer.
  • Consult and delegate on customer queries on undocumented product behavior.
  • Lead investigations into performance, functional, non-functional issues with products and software. Ensuring that issues are replicated and steps to recreate are well documented.
  • If required, aid customers in all test phases especially during mobilization of new contracts.
  • Provide and arrange suitable test environments for test engineers, aiming that there is identical replication of customer or product usage environments
  • Manage all aspects of product testing, including and not limited to: Long term testing, performance testing, functional testing, non-functional, operational, system integration, factory acceptance.

Skills And Knowledge

Essential

  • Min of 10 years in various hands-on QA positions.
  • Min of 5 years’ In QA Matrix-based management positions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible attitude to supporting business critical issues.
  • Ability to work in a quick paced environment.


Desirable

  • Previous experience of working with government agencies.
  • DB’s, REST & SOAP API testing, Web testing, HW and FW testing.
