Your Role And Responsibilities

We are excited to offer an Application Architect position specialising in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment. This role is perfect for an experienced professional who wants to leverage their expertise in designing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to cutting-edge cloud initiatives and shape the future of our organisation's digital transformation on AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures on the AWS platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements, translating them into effective cloud solutions.
  • Guide the development team in best practices for cloud-based application design, ensuring adherence to AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and industry trends, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our cloud offerings.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud applications, preferably on the AWS platform.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and familiarity with key concepts like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and more.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and patterns, and experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex systems, identifying areas for optimisation and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes on AWS.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of data engineering and experience with AWS data services like Redshift, Glue, or Kinesis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation on AWS, such as using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
