As an Estate Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day upkeep of a residential estate. Your duties will include maintaining the quality of internal and external communal areas, carrying out routine maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service to residents and visitors.

  • Location: Brentford, London, TW8
  • Annual Salary: £27,352
  • Hours/Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all communal areas are clean and well-maintained at all times
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report faults or maintenance issues to the Development/Estate Manager
  • Carry out and oversee minor maintenance tasks, such as adjusting doors, hinges, and handles
  • Assist with waste management, ensuring bins are accessible for collection and bin stores are kept clean
  • Maintain car parks and cycle storage areas, ensuring they remain clean, secure, and hazard-free
  • Support soft landscaping tasks, including watering and leaf/weed removal
  • Assist with system testing, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and water features
  • Monitor and understand the operation of Building Management Systems and mechanical/electrical plant equipment
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to Health & Safety regulations while on-site
  • Provide security by monitoring access, overseeing CCTV, checking visitor IDs, and conducting regular patrols

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in cleaning, gardening, or minor maintenance
  • A good standard of education
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Competency in using a smartphone
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • A practical, hands-on approach with skills in maintenance, plumbing, fencing, or small works
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents
  • A positive and proactive attitude with good problem-solving abilities
