Due to an internal promotion, Abbott Rapid Diagnostics are recruiting a Country Manager UK & Ireland to support the Cardiometabolic business as part of the Southwest Europe region.
What You’ll Do
As a Country Manager UK & Ireland you will develop & lead the execution of strategy in the Cardiometabolic Rapid Diagnostics business unit.
The role is mainly field-based with 50% travelling requirement across the region and in European countries. Presence in Abbott’s UK headquarters in Maidenhead for business meetings would be frequent.

What You’ll Do
As a Country Manager UK & Ireland you will develop & lead the execution of strategy in the Cardiometabolic Rapid Diagnostics business unit.
The role is mainly field-based with 50% travelling requirement across the region and in European countries. Presence in Abbott’s UK headquarters in Maidenhead for business meetings would be frequent.

- Manage Third Party Distributors and relevant external agencies in the execution of the sales and business development strategy.
- To deliver short- & long-term volume, sales, profit & market share goals by developing and delivering Organisational Excellence within our UK/Ireland Commercial organization
- Ensure accurate and efficient co-ordination and administration of all business operations
- Develop a high-performance team with strength-in-depth ensuring succession planning where appropriate for all key positions/skill sets
- Effectively manage all UK/Ireland’s sales efforts in support of our business goals
- Identify potential targets for strategic partnerships/alliances
- Take ownership and mange the country P&L, highlighting risks and opportunities, and balancing product forecast in line with financial reviews.
- Experience in progressively senior commercial roles in medical devise or diagnostics in the U.K.
- Previous experience in front line sales management experience
- Business or Science degree.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK and Ireland healthcare systems and larger ecosystems
- Have an established network with KOLs and a strong ability to influence at a senior stakeholder leves
- Track record as an effective people manager and leader.
- Deep understanding of organisational development related to market structure and needs
- Able to travel up to 60% of their time. Occasional travel to other European countries.
