We are an award winning consultancy that implements technology to improve the delivery of complex construction projects. Improving construction strengthens the very foundation of human civilisation. ( Watch our short film about it)

The Role

Purpose of the role

You will be helping to plan for and improve organisational capabilities to better enable asset owners and developers to achieve excellent outcomes from their capital projects. You will be leading on strategic and operational initiatives for our clients whilst also contributing to the development of the Laminar team. You will be balancing priorities and cutting through the noise to develop and implement tangible improvements for our clients.

Team

This role is part of our Capital Project Excellence team which focuses on:

Understanding what the real organisational problems are

Developing scalable best practices, tools and technology

Implementing effective solutions for sustainable and progressive improvements

  • Drive continuous improvement to ensure the adoption of best practices within the industry.
  • Lead the implementation of significant organisational change initiatives

Your Top 5 Responsibilities

  • Own the scope: Own the engagementdelivery plan for one or more clients and ensure that our team is working to it effectively. Ensure client’sneedsand expectations are suitably managed.
  • Own the outcome: Youare responsible forputting in your best effort to ensure the solutions we develop and implement provide the outcomes that our clients need.
  • Report and inform: Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels that help them deliver their part of the engagement more efficiently and effectively.
  • Make scalable solutions : Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team so that long-term impact is achieved.
  • Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well.

Your Capabilities

You’re able to understand capital projects from the perspective of organisational benefits. You can comfortably advise on the strategic and operational solutions needed to successfully execute capital projects. You have demonstrable experience in complex capital project delivery – you’re a project person at heart.

As a candidate, you:

Must-Have (The fundamentals)

  • Mastery: Capital projects background with at least 5+ years of experience in construction, Knowledgeable of the common issues facing clients in the Engineering & Construction sector
  • Communication: Proficient communicator in written and verbal English, capable of simply explaining complex problems.
  • Leadership: A relentless approach to dealing with people
  • Impact: A track record of making projects and organisations better, beyond just doing the basics

Nice to Have (If you don’t have it now you will be trained intensively after joining)

  • Mastery: Demonstrable experience of solving common industry problems, holistically. Decent Excel skills and a strong interest in digitalisation.
  • Communication: The charisma, influence and presence to get people to do new things and take the best approach
  • Leadership: A proven leader/coach/developer of teams or teams of teams
  • Impact: A track record of implementing scalable and repeatable solutions in projects and organisations that had a significant positive impact
  • Software: ERP type software experience, using and implementing (e.g. Oracle suite of applications – Aconex, OPC, Unifier)
