Overall Purpose of Role

To support the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Team by providing timely and accurate administrative and accounting support. This 12 months maternity cover position is key to ensuring continuity in day-to-day financial operations and supporting internal and external stakeholders. This role is 30 hours per week over a 4 day period, we can be flexible on days / times.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The duties of the Accounts Assistant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing weekly staff timesheets accurately and on time
  • Processing subcontractor invoices in line with company procedures
  • Assisting with month-end close processes
  • Preparing and processing customer invoices
  • Assisting with the resolution of general accounting queries and issues
  • Maintaining up-to-date and well-organised financial records and files
  • Responding to daily communications and finance-related enquiries from staff, clients, and suppliers


Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts support role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines


Desirable:

  • Experience using finance/accounting software (e.g. SAP + Salesforce)
  • AAT qualification or studying towards it
