Job Overview
HMP Berwyn is a category C local training prison with a remand function serving courts in North Wales with a capacity of 2106 men.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) provides a dedicated health and wellbeing service supporting patients with often complex needs including physical, mental health and substance misuse issues.
Shifts times can vary but day cover is from 07:00-19:30 and night cover is 19:00-07:30.

Health and wellbeing services are delivered seven days a week day throughout the year. Your duties will include first and second reception screening for new arrivals, medication administration, triage and vaccination clinics. Long term condition clinics are a core clinical activity. The role is varied, involving assessing and treating patients and carrying out effective care in an ever changing environment; responding to both their physical and mental well-being needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- 1st Level Registered Nurse part 1 or 3 NMC Register
- Current NMC registration
- Ability to demonstrate clinical and theoretical knowledge base
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of current NHS agenda Clinical Governance and it’s relevance to practice
- Experience and or/knowledge of a criminal justice setting
Essential criteria
- Experience in a primary care and/or acute nursing
- Experience of multi-agency/disciplinary practice
- Experience at Band 5 in a related clinical environment
