Children’s Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Oncology Band 7.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and is expected to have extensive experience and expertise in the management of children and young people with oncology conditions.
The post holder will contribute to the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines and will lead on audit, research and the delivery of action plans to develop the service.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing expertise, knowledge and skills in clinical practice in care of an infant/child/young person with Cancer and Leukaemia.
To be an agent for change within defined clinical organisational boundaries.
To function at a higher level of practice demonstrating higher levels of decision making, planning and collaborative working in the care of a child/young person with Cancer and Leukaemia.
Provide clinical teaching and education to other colleagues in order to enhance clinical practice and improve patient care both in hospital and community settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Registered Nurse on NMC Register with recognised Children’s Nursing qualification RN Child/RSCN
