Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Bury St Edmunds
Contract type: Full time
Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.
Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role is based at our Bury St Edmunds office.
Home Decarbonisation - We’re working to eliminate fuel poverty, providing end-to-end management in energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Our team works closely with homeowners and local authority partners to provide home energy advice to prepare for Net Zero.
As part of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of the transition to net zero, working with not just those around you, but across the Group- sharing learnings to deliver essential infrastructure services for life.
We are a mission-led business focussed on the delivery of warmer, healthier and more efficient homes and supporting GB on its journey to net zero. We want our people to feel engaged in the important work the business does and to feel valued for their individual ideas and contribution.
We are proud of the return on investment we deliver for funders of our programmes in terms of reductions in energy bill costs, health outcomes and carbon abatement, and of the ESG impacts, captured in AgilityEco’s Impact Report. Our tendering activities include specific social value measures and commitments to clients.
Our clients include local authorities, housing associations, energy suppliers and private funders. We engage directly with consumers and provide energy efficiency advice and support, and facilitating whole-house, fabric-first energy efficiency retrofit upgrades.
What will you be doing?
As an Operations Improvement Manager, you will analyse and map current installation and delivery processes, identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities that have real operational impact. Working closely with on‑site operational teams and systems design and development colleagues, you’ll design and implement practical process improvements, define future (“to‑be”) ways of working, and support teams through the transition. You’ll help embed new tools, systems, and technologies, improve visibility through better tracking and reporting, and ultimately increase throughput, reduce delays, and support leaders in adapting operations to deliver new business opportunities.
The role combines analysis with delivery. The post holder will be expected to move quickly from insight to action and see the changes to completion. The role is very much hands on, working closely with onsite teams to identify what is not working today, fix it, and help transition the business to a more effective and scalable way of operating. The Operations Improvement Manager will be part of he change and not observing it.
What you will bring to the role?
We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include;
We want to be an employer of choice and a great place to work, attracting diverse and talented people, who join us and make a difference. We are one of the Top 100 UK companies actively supporting and recruiting veterans. Our ENABLE inclusion networks bring together people who have a shared passion, to help create an environment where everyone belongs.
Our values help to shape our culture and how we work with one another. We recruit with these values in mind, to ensure your aspirations, and ways of working, align with ours.
It’s an exceptional time to be a part of M Group.
Please note: Occasionally, job adverts might be closed before the stated closing date. Do apply as soon as possible to ensure your application is considered.
