The role

We are looking for an organised, engaged, self-motivated, results-driven individual with a desire to develop a career in project management, progressing through the career structure and ultimately leading and managing major projects in the business. You may have recently finished education or already have some work experience. We are looking for the right mindset, attributes and potential, rather than specific prior work experience.

You will be joining a busy, approachable, and supportive team who will help you to develop your skills and career, which may include undertaking additional training/qualifications both internally and externally. The range of projects you will be involved in is very varied and interesting, and you will get to develop a wide network of colleagues across the business.

The activities

Key activities that the Project Assistant will undertake include the following:

Project management / Project Support

Taking ownership of small projects (growing in size and scale in line with experience), including:

  • Managing project tasks/activities
  • Managing project budgets.
  • Managing project risks.
  • Managing project issues.
  • Managing project communications.
  • Drafting a range of project documentation in accordance with the firm’s project management toolkit.
  • Regular updating of project plans and related project documentation (eg, issues register, risks register)
  • Actively help others and seek assistance when required. Request work when capacity allows.

The Project Assistant will be able to evidence the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Achievement orientated – a desire to get things done by being proactive, exercising influence and gaining the buy-in of others
  • Leadership mindset – ability to lead and guide others towards an end goal
  • Conscientious – self-disciplined and organised
  • Self-motivated – able to demonstrate determination and persistence
  • Collaborative – works effectively as part of a team and involves others in developing solutions
