The Role 

You will co-ordinate and control the booking of finished goods & rail along with the transport of product and consumable materials between sites, point of use and to the customer’s site in line with the customer’s delivery requirements (internal & external).

 

A day in the life of a Yard & Delivery Coordinator… 

 

  • Co-ordination of logistical planning and distribution activities for the site & storage sites
  • Maintain department KPI’s to ensure improvements can be made and monitored.
  • Ensure all finished goods are booked into stock using the ERP system.
  • Co-ordination of subcontract/third party items on & off site
  • Support the stores team as required for internal stock locations, cast kits and loose kits.
  • Support with kitting jobs as per required build schedules & as deliveries permit
  • Undertake stock takes and PI checks as required.
  • Supervise the movement, unloading and loading of material and goods by both internal and third-party logistics transportation.
  • Controls the quality and accuracy of all raw material (rail) inward and outward transportation documentation.
  • Liaise with our customers, transport operators, shipping companies and other PRSUK sites in a professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures. 
  • Comply with the Company Code of Conduct. Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself, direct reports, colleagues, and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at work, and for the environment. 
  • Ensures all admin is maintained to a high level and is kept up to date for auditable purposes.
  • Can generate despatch notes, picking lists, transfer orders, counting journals and packing lists and ensures that intermediate stock, finished goods and rail are correctly located on the system.
  • Responsible for the safe positioning of transportation and undertaking of safe and correct loading of materials.
  • Communicate issues to relevant teams to manage their expectations so they can manage the expectations of the customers and management.
  • Deputise for other Yard Coordinators when required (may be required to travel to other sites)

 

 



About You

  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Good IT skills, in particular Excel
  • Ideally a FLT/Side loader/Crane driver or combination of the 3
  • Flexible approach to working hours – shifts may be required
  • Team player
  • Calm under pressure
  • High level of trust and integrity
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Full Driving license
