We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team, you will play a crucial role in analysing complex datasets to extract valuable insights and drive data-driven decisions, contributing to our mission of transforming home energy management. Responsibilities Data Analysis and Modelling: Utilise advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets and develop predictive models for energy demand and supply forecasting. Algorithm Development: Design and optimise algorithms to efficiently manage and distribute energy resources within a home, focusing on Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) such as energy storage batteries, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging and smart appliances. AI Tools Utilisation: Utilise AI tools to assist in the optimisation of algorithms and analysis of data, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of energy management solutions. Profitability Maximization: Develop algorithms to maximise profitability while ensuring a reliable energy supply, considering factors such as energy pricing, consumption patterns, and market dynamics. Machine Learning/AI Implementation: Implement machine learning/AI models to predict energy market trends and optimise Virtual Power Plant (VPP) operations, enhancing overall energy management capabilities. Real-time Monitoring and Adjustment: Monitor and adjust VPP operations based on real-time data and predictive analytics, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness to changing conditions. Requirements Experience: Data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques, preferably in the energy sector or related industries. Tools: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with libraries and frameworks for data analysis and machine learning (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, pandas). Analytics: The ability to use analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large, complex datasets and derive actionable insights. Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
