An exciting opportunity has become available in the Rescue & Firefighting Service (RFFS) for the role of Aviation Firefighter.
This is a key role which is essential in maintaining the high degree of professionalism already established within the department. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate and maintain a high degree of commitment and dedication which will enable them to effectively utilise all appliances and equipment they are required to use in the day to day operations of their position.
This exciting role for the successful applicant offers potential development opportunities to progress into other roles within the RFFS.
Initial training will consist of both practical and theoretical inputs aimed at developing the recruit to a level that enables them to fully contribute to the operational requirements.
Who are we looking for?
As a Fire Fighter the successful candidate must have the ability to demonstrate skill and competence aligned to a Firefighting role with previous fire fighting experience a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to rigorously comply with all operational instructions, maintain a high degree of physical fitness and go through a system of refresher training, to ensure that your technical competence is maintained to the standards demanded of the role / Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Within this role the successful candidate will be expected to work well under pressure and remain resilient within challenging situations. They should also be competent to work at height and confined spaces.
They should also maintain excellent standards and demonstrate teamwork. They will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, more specifically; Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

- Interview
- Physical Assessment
- Pass the CAA Medical

This post requires access through the Critical Part at the Airport and therefore in line with Department for Transport regulations; you will be required to demonstrate during the recruitment process, that you have no relevant criminal record.
