Role description:


We are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant to join our growing Local Government team in the South West. 


In Local Government we are working on some of the most exciting and challenging issues affecting our society today, ranging from the re-invention of town centres and regeneration of deprived areas through to designing solutions in response to Net Zero Carbon commitments. Our sector is thriving, and we have ambitious plans to grow.

Role accountabilities:



  • You will be a key member of the project delivery team, achieving objectives, delivering to performance targets and ensuring that the cost team have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives

  • Analyse and review complex information from a range of data sources including  in order to identify how different options may impact project delivery and advise clients and internal stakeholders on potential implications

  • Managing our relationship with the client to ensure satisfaction, meeting client objectives and helping to manage pipeline and deliver client growth.

  • Assuring compliance with contracts in terms of programme delivery parameters and scope of service

  • Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small commercial/regeneration/residential projects, in order to control cost variables

  • Deliver and manage projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring the delivery of the required scope of work within set deadlines


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Working towards professional qualification or chartered status

  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of building types and ideally some experience of working on Government or public sector projects 

  • Ability to run projects with limited supervision, working effectively with other disciplines where we are offering multi-disciplinary solutions.
