About the role

This role will be aligned to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Contract, which is led by the University of Sunderland. This role will support in the compliance of the employer and learner paperwork from the partners and for the management of the financial information both from the partners and from our own internal delivery teams, to ensure that the information on the claim is accurate and correct.


Working with the finance team to ensure that there is an audit trail, and the evidence is acceptable for both Sunderland City Council and UKSPF audits. Working with the Senior Compliance Officer in the development and updating of procedures, protocols, and policies to ensure that the UKSPF Development transactions comply with the University’s Financial Regulations and in accordance with the financial rules and regulations set out by the Department for Levelling up, Housing & Communities and Sunderland City Council.


This role can be offered on a fixed-term basis or a secondment opportunity until 31/03/2025


What you can bring


This role requires a keen eye for detail and accuracy, along with the ability to self-motivated and a keen problem solver.


You will have the ability to work with internal and external partners to work through and find solutions for complex issues.


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills as this can be occasionally a busy role with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
