Content Executive

Gowling WLG (UK) LLP
Full time Full day
Birmingham

About the role:

We have a great opportunity for a Content Executive to join our Internal Communications team. This role is based in Birmingham and sits within our Business Development team. Our Internal Communications team supports the wider business to help build our company culture and to ensure our people are aware of important firm news, projects that might affect their working lives and activities they can get involved with.

We are looking for an experienced content creator to play an important role in bringing to life and embedding within the business change projects and those projects and campaigns that support the Firm's strategic imperatives and brand focus.

Within this role you will work closely with the communications manager responsible for internal communications, other communications executives, and key stakeholders from across the business.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has experience in an internal communications / marketing / communications role, with the ability to demonstrate excellent 'right first time' writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees. Your experience will exhibit an ability to write in a variety of styles and to flex copywriting to reflect the 'voice' of an individual or the brand, whilst creatively developing ideas and approaches that fall in line with the firm's wider communications strategy.

Within this role you will work with a variety of individuals and therefore you will be required to successfully build relationships and authority in order to work with communications, HR and other business services departments. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques and content edits to them.

To succeed in this role, you will be required to have a good understanding and experience of digital content production, experience working with style guides and familiarity with on and off-line communications channels.

What We Can Offer You:

The opportunity to work within a strong and supportive BD function and with dynamic partners and lawyers in high profile areas of the firm. Gowling WLG has been recognised as one of best places to work in the UK and has been ranked by Great Place to Work for 24 consecutive years.

Excellent benefits, including:

  • A hybrid approach to office and remote working.

  • 25 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to a week's extra annual leave.

  • Free private medical insurance, and the option to add family members.

  • A generous pension allowance.

  • Life assurance covering four times your annual salary.

  • The chance of a three-month sabbatical every five years.

  • Maternity, paternity and adoption leave schemes.

  • A range of health and wellbeing programmes.

  • Offices in Birmingham city centre or in London overlooking Tower Bridge, both with onsite restaurants.

  • Opportunities to flourish in your role through training and personal development.

Equal Opportunities:

Gowling WLG is committed both to promoting equality and diversity in the firm and to Equal Opportunities in employment. The firm believes in equality of opportunity regardless of race or racial group (including colour, nationality, ethnicity, national origins), religion or belief, age, disability, sexual orientation, sex, gender re-assignment and gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy, maternity and paternity. This also includes any incidents of perceptive or associative discrimination and harassment.

At Gowling WLG we seek to attract and retain talented people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, to create an exciting and rewarding place to work. Our aim is to fulfil everyone's potential and together to achieve personal and business goals.
