Specialist Support Nurse - Acute Leukaemia

This is an exciting opportunity to join the  Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist team on a 9 month secondment/fixed term basis, and expand and consolidate your Haematological knowledge. The Acute Leukaemia service is looking for an individual to join as a Band 6 Support Nurse, supporting and managing with patients receiving intensive and non intensive chemotherapy and supportive care. In your role you will be expected to work 4 days a week to support the Band 7 CNS in the co-ordination of the patient pathways, the support and symptom management of patients, attend outpatient clinics and MDTs, provide specialist advice and triage patient calls.

We are looking for someone with Haematology experience and willingness to develop, good communication skills, able to work well within a team and good organisational skills.          

You will be responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care;

Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist Nursing care programmes 

Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with other staff.
