Role Overview
Our Service at Stockport mainly provides support services to Looked After Children (LAC). The Service support the young people to develop independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene. Managing budgets and understanding the wider benefits of work is also critical, and the young people access programmes for education, training and employment.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in working with us as Young People Support Worker (Part Time). This exciting job will avail you the opportunity to manage a caseload of clients, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs; supporting them to progress towards independence.
You will work in a rolling rota of daytimes, evenings and weekends (some shifts will be lone working) including bank holidays to ensure that young people have full staff support during their most difficult times.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times including ensuring that Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures are followed as laid out in Depaul’s Policy and Procedures
- Ensure one-to one and group support opportunities occur within their accommodation aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with
- Proactively lead on partnerships with local agencies including statutory teams, to support the well-being of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols
- Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations, through facilitating the work of Depaul’s Community Programmes Team

- Experience of working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness
- Experience of working with looked after children / Care Leavers
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse or the care system
- A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning
- A comprehensive training package tailored to your needs and role
- Flexible working model for suitable roles.
- 26 days annual leave rising to 30 after five years’ service.
