The team ensure that the Council is in close contact and has good communication, with the businesses in the Borough. Our business engagement team proactively visit businesses across Calderdale to discuss and support business growth opportunities.


We are working in partnership with Adventure at Leeds City Region Authority to promote, coordinate and deliver a wide range of business support based on local needs by helping businesses find the funding, support and information they need to grow.


Have you got experience of successfully supporting young businesses to grow?


We are seeking a Young Business Manager to join the Ad: Venture Business Growth Programme team based in Calderdale.


You will seek to promote and help to coordinate business growth activities delivered across West Yorkshire. The post involves building relationships with small businesses, providing advice/guidance to them, and brokering appropriate business support. You will be expected to account manage a caseload of young businesses supporting entrepreneurs and owner/managers to review their business, to formulate an action plan and to review the plan after six months. The role requires a good understanding of the issues faced by growth businesses of less than 3 years old across a range of sectors.


You will have:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of carrying out financial/business appraisals.
  • Experience in building relationships with small businesses, providing advice/guidance and brokering appropriate business support.
  • Experience of working in partnership with a range of private/public sector agencies.
  • Be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline or have significant relevant experience.
