Contract type: Part time
About The Role

Help shape the future of energy.

Bringing together the expertise and insights of skilled professionals, from surveyors and land managers to safety and sustainability experts, we work responsibly and safely to support National Grid’s commitment to make energy reliable, clean and affordable for consumers; to deliver new uses for land we no longer need; and to optimise our operational estate. We are at the forefront of the biggest period of change in the electricity network since the 1960s to meet the demands of Net Zero.

The Land Data and Digital team is responsible for enabling a team of surveyors and other property specialists to do their day to day work smarter and more efficiently. We manage data about hundreds of property sites, and tens of thousands of electricity assets, landowners and legal agreements adhering to strict GDPR rules.

Supporting the Land Data Lead, you will strategically plan, deliver and control a robust SI Land Data reporting function for the Land Team. You will create and maintain dashboards with our critical data, which will enable the leadership team and key stakeholders to identify risks and challenges to deliver our strategic outcomes. You will work with the Land Data and Digital team to support on change projects in the data and digitisation environment.

You will have the communication skills to engage effectively with the teams who create and use the data. You will be interested in the Property industry, intellectually curious, and you will excel at finding intelligent solutions to improve a process or fix a problem. You will be able to communicate complex information simply, to a wide ranging audience.

This role is based from Warwick and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the conduit for reporting need and delivery between SI Land teams, wider NG teams and external stakeholders to the SI Land Data Lead, looking strategically across short, medium and long term trends.
  • Identify critical data reporting requirements and produce streamlined, timely and accurate output reports; developing, analysing and refining data sets, dashboards and reports as required to meet business needs (e.g. clear visibility of workloads, delivery, pipeline, reporting of key metrics, visual representation) liaising with the Operations team and key stakeholders.
  • Understand and interpret data trends and dependencies, provide external benchmarking, and identify new and innovative solutions and approaches (e.g. Power BI).
  • Enhance data and transformation workflow through leading improvements to processes, compliance and development of tools considering a single source of truth; presenting in front of other teams or stakeholders.
  • Identify new processes which need to be developed and map out those processes through collaborative and iterative design.
  • Pragmatically and effectively lead and champion a data management culture within SI Land that recognises data as a key asset that directly enables targeted business performance outcomes and adheres to regulatory and National Grid Data Management Standards, associated policies and other relevant data governance within Land.
  • Work in partnership with all areas of NGET (SI Land, LPEA, SI and ET) facilitating and fostering a culture of seamless cross-function working and support NG IT departments to deliver value-adding strategies.
  • Work with the SI Data and Digital team on change projects and data and digitisation projects.
