Ward Assistant

C25 is a busy 28 bedded renal medicine ward, primarily caring for patients who may require hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, treatment for chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury. Due to this our patients may require specific diets to be followed such as fluid restrictions, low potassium and low sodium diets.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to positively contribute to patient experience. As one of our ward hostesses you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding care to our patients by ensuring they receive high standards of food and fluids and that they receive care in a clean and pleasant environment. You will do this in collaboration with the healthcare teams as a valued member of the team.
You will also be required to adequately manage the wards stock control, placing regular orders and rotating stock sufficiently.
Providing nutritional duties giving out patient food
Carrying out hydration needs, regular drinks rounds
Ensuring fluid balance charts and food charts are maintained
Documentation kept up to a high standard
Communicating with patients and at times with relatives
Assisting patients in the completion of menus and explanation of options
Stock management and control
