The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is comprised of The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHT), The Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT), Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU).
The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain and wider Commercial support to the aforementioned organisations covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices and Commsioning Support Units across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Shropshire and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS’s). With almost 200 staff, 55,000 customers and managing a total non pay spend portfolio of over £1.2b per annum the NMBC is one of the largest and influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO’s) in the NHS.
This post leads the Commercial Contract Management team and is based at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust, New Cross site, reporting to the Group Director of Procurement within the NMBC. The role is directly responsible for Commercial Contract Management
Group Deputy Director of Procurement – Commercial Contract Management will provide comprehensive support to the Group Procurement Director in delivering the Commercial Contract Management function at the Black Country Integrated Care System (ICS) level and Trusts / organisation level represented within the North Midlands and Black Country (NMBC) Procurement Group.
To act as a Group Deputy Director of Procurement for the NMBC. The post-holder will lead on and be responsible for line management of the Commercial Contract Management Team within a designated ICS(s) and will provide support to the Group Director of Procurement in ensuring that all elements of the ICS, NMBC and individual Trust level commercial contract management, are delivered. This will include, for example, the delivery of national commercial contract management objectives, regional and local CIP targets, workforce objectives and maintaining supply chain resilience across the Pan ICS NMBC footprint.
The Group Deputy Director of Procurement shall act as an ambassador and foster a highly professional and responsive client service approach; proactively build and sustain professional relationships and interface with other departments, Trusts and Executives / colleagues across the Black Country ICS’s covered by the NMBC.
