Just like Richard Carr-Gomm, Abbeyfield Living Society founder who dedicated his time to combating loneliness in older adults, you too can make a lasting impact. Over 60 years later, our mission thrives thanks to the hundreds of incredible volunteers who bring their unique skills and personalities to our houses and homes.

Do I need to supply references or undergo a DBS check?

The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. Our volunteering roles require two references and a DBS check.

About You

  • it's not just about the skills you bring – it's about the impact you make. Your time and companionship can mean the world to someone who might be feeling lonely or isolated.
  • Don't have specific skills? No problem! We're happy to train you and help you discover new talents. The most important thing is your willingness to share your time and make a connection.

Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
