Veterinary Surgeon – Consults only vet considered – Salary up to £60,000

Our team

You’ll be joining an experienced team of vets, nurses and non-clinical colleagues all led by practice owner Steve who qualified from Glasgow and has over 37 years’ of experience. As a Vet GDP Advisor Steve is also supported by 3 other vets, one of whom is currently working towards a surgery certificate, with all colleagues encouraged to further develop their skills surrounded by a supportive team.

We’re a collaborative, welcoming team holding monthly vet meetings, in addition to regular whole practice meetings too.

Your day and you

Days are busy with a varied caseload, but they are also well structured with consults given 15 minutes as standard, longer for more complex cases, and time for breaks, admin and lunch all factored into your day. The last consult of the day is booked for 6.30pm so there’s time to complete admin and still get away on time!

Ideally this is a full-time role, with flexibility for shorter hours considered if required. Full-time our vets currently work 4 days a week, with 3 days consulting and 1 day surgery, in addition to a shared 1 in 4 Saturday rota. There will be no Sundays, no bank holidays and no OOH, ensuring everyone enjoys a healthy work/life balance.

Due to the nature of the role and occasional sole charge, you’ll have solid experience in all aspects of small animal GP practice, although we are also happy to consider applications from experienced vets looking for a consults’ only role.

The practice is ideally situated on the outskirts of the M25, with excellent train and motorway links (just 25 minutes into central London), the practice offers a full range of treatments and services from health checks to emergency operations with practice owner Steve also doing some orthopaedic work in house. Facilities at our purpose-built practice include 3 consulting rooms, operating theatre, central preparation area, kitchen/colleague space and all the equipment you would expect from a leading GP practice.
