We are recruiting a second Van Driver at an exciting time in the development of the Oxfam Furniture Shop in Southampton.



The Role:


You will work with our volunteer Van Driver’s Assistants to collect donated furniture and deliver sold furniture from and to our customers’ homes. You will also be moving stock or fittings between Oxfam’s shops.



Please note: this role is fixed term (6 months)



What we are looking for:


We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.


An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • a licence to drive a 3.5 ton van with no more than 3 points.
  • a commitment and ability to drive safely and legally.
  • the ability to sequence deliveries and collections and plan routes effectively.
  • the ability to lift and carry large and heavy items of furniture and supervise others in doing so safely.
  • the ability to differentiate between saleable and unsaleable furniture.
  • good customer service skills.
  • the ability and willingness to follow procedures and instructions.
  • team working skills.
