Transport Manager

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: Any 5 from 7 - day time working

Location: Bury - M26 2XH

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Manager to play a vital role coordinating a safe and efficient transport operation to help achieve operational standards and customer requirements.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Leading the Transport Operation through effective leadership, communication and development of the wider team, whilst driving a culture of high performance, safety and compliance
• As the named CPC holder on the operator licence, ensures that driver and fleet compliance is in line with legal and DHL standards
• Responsible for the Transport P&L and execution of the transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved
• Be the point of escalation for operational issue management and resolution for transport and with local warehouse
• Promote a positive transport / network culture, supporting Employee Opinion Survey initiatives
  
  
  

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Must hold an International Transport Manager CPC with extensive experience managing large fleets of over 60 vehicles and 130 + drivers
• Experience of people management within a Transport or Supply Chain environment
• A strong knowledge of Working Time Directive and Drivers Hours
• Experience with finance as a budget holder would be desirable
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management - dealing with the customer and internal stakeholders
