Job Introduction
We are looking for a Transformation & Sustainability Development Engineer to work with the Head of Engineering Transformation, to drive our kitchen transformation and sustainability agenda.
Transformation: Identify, test & implement best practice operational improvement solutions, developing proposals with the HO Engineering Transformation that align with business strategy, ensure new and current facilities are best in class to support long term business growth. Supporting the handover of projects to the site Operations team
Sustainability: To ensure Bigham’s delivers on its C02 reduction commitments within its Net Zero and SBTI targets. By providing support at site level for the business sustainability targets, researching best practice, presenting options to stakeholders and holding site Operations accountable to deliver related projects

Role Responsibility
- Research best in class manufacturing and sustainability processes and
visits and overseas travel as applicable.
- Monitor and analyse operational processes, workflows & energy consumption to
- Collect & analyse data to discover areas that need improvement and upgrades
- Develop and maintain relationships with process, technology and equipment
- Identify and explore opportunities for automation to allow better use of the
- Own & gatekeep both sites infrastructure, distribution and layout drawings.
- Lead the kitchen carbon equivalent emissions agenda, identifying areas to
- Manage & own business energy consumption monitoring software and generate all reports as required for key stakeholders.
- Be the link between Transformation and both (sites) engineering teams.
- Work closely with 3rd party contractors to design & develop bespoke equipment solutions.
- Assist in managing a portfolio of our capital projects from concept to install.
- Support the delivery of best-in-class food production facilities, protecting the longevity of our business infrastructure investments.
- Support the Head of Engineering Transformation to deliver:
- Core business transformation & Sustainability targets of efficiency, capacity gains
- Identification of transformation & sustainability opportunities
- Technical drawing management
- Energy data management
- Project workstream coordination and reporting
- Engineering design.
Experience
- Engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience of working with chilled food production operations is desirable.
- Cross-functional project management
- CAD & SolidWorks desirable
- Managing a budget, including forecasting and reporting.
- Process engineering experience desirable.
- Analytical thinker and experienced at root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Good general engineering knowledge
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Computer literate
- Influencing others
- Accomplished verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and challenge key stakeholders
- Ability to work cross-functionally, with for example NFD, Technical, Engineering, People team, Ops, Finance etc.
- Capable of adapting to a fast-growing, privately-owned company.
- Calm, logical thinker with positive approach.
- Collaborative and capable of working in either a supporting or lead role
- Ability to organise and manage large amounts of data and continuous change.
