We have one vacancy on a 12-month fixed term contract or secondment. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, however reduced hours or a job share can be considered.

We are looking for someone to co-ordinate the management, use of, and maintenance of a portfolio of leased and owned accommodation used by Teignbridge District Council as temporary accommodation. You will be required to monitor, control and ensure cost efficiency through appropriate placements and timely moves within temporary accommodation.

You will deal with a variety of tasks ranging from managing the physical condition of the property, arranging repairs, tackling anti-social behaviour, investigating suspected abandonment and evictions.

Housing is a vital front-line service and the demand on our service is increasing. You would be joining a well-established team dedicated to working together to make a difference to people’s lives.

You will work from Forde House and satellite offices in Newton Abbot and Dawlish. You will also have regular business travel to other sites and properties managed within the district of Teignbridge.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in property management.
  • Have knowledge of homelessness legislation.
  • Have knowledge of landlord and tenant law.
  • Have a wide ranging and up to date knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and support options.
  • Be a problem solver, finding creative solutions to arising challenges.
  • Be patient, level-headed and cool under pressure.
  • Pay attention to details.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
