Responsibilities
- As part of our Rail Engineering Services team, provide Team and Technical leadership in the delivery of Traction Power Systems engineering and design management to our UK and overseas rail and transit customers.
- Reporting to the E&P Service Lead within Rail Engineering Services, , the role will be responsible for all elements of TPS delivery including future strategy, workforce development, recruitment and technical innovation. Experience in interfacing with an offshore complementary resource team.
- Industry recognised Subject Matter Expert in the TPS Engineering and Design discipline across Main Line, Metro and Light Rail electrification systems in the UK and international markets. Experience in all common Traction Power systems, and associated voltages, including 2x25kV ac Autotransformer Systems and 25kV ac Classic Systems, 1500V dc and 750V dc Metro and Light Rail Systems.
- Management experience of leading a TPS Design Team including resource management and utilisation and staff development and ideally experience in interfacing with an offshore complementary resource team.
- Experience of all stages of TPS design from concept through to detailed design.
- Experience of undertaking Traction Power System Modelling and Major Feeding Diagram production.
- Experience of contributing to all stages of Project involvement from initial marketing, thereafter business development and tender production/submission and culminating in project delivery.
- Experience of reviewing, on the behalf of Clients, TPS Specifications and Designs produced by others.
- Has a sound understanding of the other Railway E&P disciplines of SCADA, Overhead and third/fourth rail Contact Systems and Fixed Plant.
