We’re now looking for a skilled Tax Accountant / Tax Specialist to join our thriving Stockport-based finance function. You’ll be stepping into a varied role that offers exposure to corporate tax, VAT, tax risk management, and exciting project work – all within a supportive and high-performing team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in the preparation of tax computations and liaise with external tax advisors.
  • Maintain precise tax payment records, calculations, and documentation.
  • Assist with VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance.
  • Support responses to HMRC queries and audits.
  • Contribute to internal tax risk assessments and process improvements.
  • Keep up to date with changing tax legislation, especially within construction.
  • Work closely with the Group Tax Manager on ad hoc projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • ATT, ACA, ACCA PQ or QBE
  • Previous exposure to corporate tax compliance and reporting.
  • Detail-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
