About The Team/Department You Will Be Joining
- The Joint Digital Services Division (DSD) delivers a joint digital strategy across Gwent Police and South Wales Police to enable both forces to develop and implement new ways of working and deliver policing to our communities.
- The role will sit within the Business Systems branch of DSD who are responsible for support and development of forces primary ERP applications.
- Our office is based at South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend, but we offer a hybrid working policy which supports working from your home.
- Support
- You will investigate and resolve application issues from business areas such as HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement, Rostering and Learning & Development. Typically, you will be the point of contact for one of these areas, but may be required to cover multiple areas where knowledge overlaps.
- Queries may include providing help and guidance to end users or resolving errors which appear within the application.
- Development
- You will work with business areas to capture requirements for developments within the constraints of the application. These may include creating new fields for data entry, setting up new reports or applying business logic to processes (workflows, process maps etc).
- Experience of testing systems and diagnosing and rectifying faults within such systems.
- Ability to manipulate data sets using Excel (using lookups, concatenation, if statements etc).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate complex information to diverse audiences effectively.
