Job Overview

Our Mid Essex, Chelmsford site consists of, one mixed acute inpatient ward, plus one female and one male acute inpatient wards, along with one older adult ward and a mixed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. We are looking for band 5 nurses to join us across the site.

The team consist of a consultant psychiatrists, nurses, occupational/art/music therapists, physiotherapists, health care workers and work collaboratively with the Community team.

Main duties of the job

Patients receive individualised care and treatment based on the Care Programme Approach (CPA) which highlights crisis management and a place of safety, specialised risk assessments and risk management, intensive assessment, treatment and therapy, stabilisation of acute symptoms and relapse prevention.

Staff in these wards work closely with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams (CRHT) and the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
