Position Overview

We are looking for a senior product designer who is not only comfortable wearing many hats but thrives in doing so. You will play a founding role in the early stages of two new Mozilla.ai initiatives: Developer Hub and Blueprints.

With Developer Hub, we're building a platform where developers can find curated resources to help them build with open-source AI. With Blueprints, we're building and open-sourcing AI integrations in the form of starter code repositories that developers can use to kickstart their projects using AI.

Across both initiatives, we need a seasoned product designer who can comfortably navigate between strategy and execution. Some days, you'll attend exploratory workshops where your input can give direction to the entire project. Other days, you'll need to zero in on the details and deliver top-notch user experiences.

We particularly encourage applications from product designers who are familiar with the developer landscape and have a technical grasp of software development.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive user research to gain insights into developer needs and pain points
• Transform research findings into intuitive and visually engaging designs, including user interfaces, interactive prototypes, and seamless user flows
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and fellow designers
• Create responsive and accessible designs using Webflow
• Enhance Mozilla.ai's website while maintaining brand consistency
• Clearly communicate design concepts to stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and refine solutions to align with strategic objectives
• Proactively identify design opportunities and make product suggestions that align with user needs and strategic goals

• Skill in crafting optimal design solutions within technical constraints
• A product mindset: ability to distinguish outcomes from outputs
• A proactive, can-do attitude and strong time management skills
• Mastery of design tools (we use Figma, Miro, and Webflow)
• Understanding of responsive and accessible design standards
• Effective and concise communication skills, particularly in collaborative, remote, and fast-paced environments
• Proven experience in cross-functional product development teams
• A portfolio showcasing comprehensive understanding of design processes and high-fidelity execution
• Passion for AI's transformative potential, a strong grasp of open-source principles, and a keen interest in the evolving AI landscape
